A Legacy on Wheels: From Dairy Gates to Digital Freight Solutions

Some kids grew up playing catch. I grew up opening cattle gates on a dairy farm in Acampo, CA, helping my uncle move livestock while trucks rumbled through the yard. I was 13 when I got my first taste of the industry — long before I knew I’d build a career (and a few companies) around solving its toughest problems.

Trucking is in my blood. My family has been in transportation for over 60 years. My dad, a lifer in the LTL world, was and still is one of my biggest mentors. I didn’t know it then, but everything he taught me — from discipline to how to break down a problem and build it back better — became the backbone of my career.

After earning my degree in Computer Information Technology from Heald College in Stockton, I started off in a creative role as a sign designer for a major firm in town. When my first child was born, I pivoted to construction to support my growing family — using AutoCAD as a drafter and eventually leading multimillion-dollar infrastructure projects as a project manager for a well-known rebar company out of Tracy, CA. I was proud to have worked on jobs like the San Francisco–Oakland Bay Bridge, San Mateo Bridge, Folsom Bridge, and One Rincon Tower. But when the 2008 economic collapse hit, I was laid off — and suddenly, a father of multiple kids with no clear path forward.

That’s when I turned to my dad. He reminded me of something simple but powerful: “Trucking doesn’t stop — even in a recession.” He was right. So I got my CDL and jumped back in, hauling freight across the country from 2008 to 2010 to rack up my required two years of experience. From there, I went local and joined an FTL/LTL operation where I quickly proved my value and moved into dispatch.

It was at this company that I met a man who would later become both a close friend and a long-term business collaborator. When he retired, I stayed the course, but we kept in touch. Not long after, he came out of retirement — and we joined forces once again. I started consulting for him and other fleets, focusing on both operations and technology. I eventually moved into executive roles at two growing trucking companies where I was fortunate to work alongside a brilliant team of visionaries and innovators.

That’s where everything clicked.

I saw firsthand the bottlenecks that plague trucking operations — siloed systems, endless spreadsheets, poor communication between stateside teams and offshore support, and tech that promised a lot but delivered very little without the right structure behind it.

So, I built a system that connects it all.

Today, through PXO, I help companies eliminate chaos by designing technology ecosystems tailored to the way transportation companies actually operate. My methodology bridges tools, people, and processes — from TMS and telematics to internal comms and email automation — creating an intuitive, efficient, and scalable infrastructure. I take what's messy, disconnected, and frustrating, and turn it into something that actually works — freeing up teams to focus on growth, service, and innovation.

This isn’t just consulting. It’s transformation.

If you’re in the middle of the mess and wondering how to get ahead of it — drop me a message.
I’ve probably lived it, fixed it, and can help you do the same.

Let’s build something better.
